The teacher pages I looked through were from the school Vineland Elementary School. The setup for these teacher pages were very organized and easy to navigate through. Each grade had a list of the teachers in that grade and a overview of that teacher. For example I clicked on first grade and there were links to each of the teachers pages. This page gave information like their qualifications and how long they have been teaching at the school. I will say not all of the grades were set up as nicely as the first grade one was, as some of them were lacking a ton of information. Overall as a public viewer I was able to see overviews of some of the teachers, ways to contact them some of the teachers, and a list of some the tools that will be used in that grade. https://www.yourcharlotteschools.net/domain/3829      As I look at my future I plan on using technology to accomplish some of my professional responsibilities more efficiently. The way I will do this ...

My initial experiences and thoughts with diigo were not anything special. When I first created my account for the website I did not like the layout of the website. After doing the portfolio assignments and watching the videos on how to smoothly operate diigo my view on the website changed drastically. When I got more comfortable with the features I started to like the website more. What I like a lot about diigo is the group feature, I like how you can join a group and post articles and discussion within your group. Overall, I think diigo can be a beneficial site for students and teachers or even people who just have common interest.      Blogger is a nice feature we have used in this class so far. My initial thought about posting blogs was not excited to say the least, but after using blogger to discuss the material in the modules I have come to enjoy using blogger. What I like best about blogger is being able to see everyone's thoughts...

I have been using twitter for about 5 years now and I have interacted with many of people/sources. These interactions include friends and media sources such as CNN and ABC news. I believe that this is beneficial because it is important to keep up with what is happening in the world. It is also important to express your thoughts and views on some of these topics to make your voice heard. I think that twitter can be helpful in my future career because it connects us to so many sources and shows us different views on things. Gaining knowledge of different views and using different sources is crucial to strengthening your learning.      The digital divide is a very real problem in the United States when it comes to students fairness in learning. The way that it affects students learning in schools is by the i nequitable access to electronic devices and reliable, high-speed internet connections. This has a negative impact on opportunity, ach...

The standard that I selected from the website was listed under grades 6-8. The standard is "standard 1: communication and collaboration", specifically the benchmark code "SC.68.CS-CC.1.1". What this states is that kids must demonstrate an ability to communicate appropriately through various online tools. What I think this means in my own words is teachers must be able to pass on knowledge of how to use online sites that involve communication to their students. This can be done in a few ways such as tutorials, attempting to use it, and hands on learning. I do feel like I am prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set. The reason I say this is because of how many online tools I have used and am familiar with. Over the course of my college career I have used a wide variety of online tools that I never even heard of before and became comfortable with all of them, so yes I feel that I am ready to implement this standard.    ...

Copyright has a huge impact on how someones work may be perceived. Someone who creates some type of work and copyrights it means they now own the work. This owner of the work is in charge of how it is distributed out to the public. They can decide if it is free or has a price and they can decide who can use their work. There are ways that copy right work is free, as this is generally through Fair Use Guidelines.  Fair Use Guidelines are the acceptable use of copyrighted materials without gaining direct permission from the owner of the copyright. Fair use is generally granted for the purposes of research, teaching, and scholarship. It is important for teachers to understand the meaning of both of these things because teachers often use other people's work in their lesson plans. What teachers can do to prevent plagiarism is use Fair Use Guidelines and implement some of their ideas into it. Teachers should go into detail with their students about using their ...
