When looking at my experience with MS word it has come a long way.  I did not start using MS word until I was a junior in high school, but now I use it almost everyday. At first it was really confusing for me trying to figure out how to navigate throughout all of the different functions, but as time went on I started to get more comfortable with it. Now that it has been almost five years I can say that I am completely comfortable using MS word to complete assignments, take notes, etc. I prefer to use MS word over other word processing softwares because I have the most experience with it and I am a lot more comfortable using it.

After reading the ISTE Standards for Educators a standard that stood out to me was, section 2.1 "Learner". I think this is important because educators should seek different aspects of how to become a better teacher of technology in the classroom. Having different aspects or tools helps improve student empowerment and creates a more efficient learning space that involves technology. Since technology is becoming more relevant in the classrooms of k-12 I think that it is important that the teachers know as much as possible about it, to make it easier to pass onto their students. Technology is continuing to become more popular in the classroom, this making it vital that educators are well educated on technology.

I am on the side of agreeing with the label of digital native placed on today's youth. What makes someone a digital native person is when they grow up with the presence of digital technology or in the information age. Digital native people are comfortable with and fluent in technology. This being the reason I agree with the label on today's youth because mostly all teenagers and kid's are comfortable using some type of technology. I have seen differences in the way digital natives and digital immigrants use technology. One example is my professor having one of her students help her fix the projector whenever it is not working correctly. It has not impacted my learning much. I think that digital immigrants are becoming more comfortable with technology as they get adjusted to how different it is from back when they were kids, but they are not as comfortable as the digital natives yet.  I do not think there will be many differences between myself and my future students when it comes to the way they use technology. I say this because technology is already a vital part of my life and I am comfortable with whatever changes that come with it.

In my newsletter some content that I included was the information about my target grade and subject which was a 5th grade math club. I also included information about my future self. I think that it is important for parents to be comfortable with who their students teachers are at that young of an age, so they can be in agreement with the teacher on what is best for the kid. Some tips that I have for designing an appealing newsletter include adding color, adding relatable pictures, and adding different font types. I think that all three of these things help make your newsletter aesthetically pleasing and makes people read it.
